Getting ready for swimming season at OLR
With warmer weather on the way, swimming season is almost here at OLR, and our onsite pool is getting ready to become another busy learning space for Term 4.
From Prep to Year 6, students take part in weekly swimming lessons right here at school, supported by qualified swim instructors and our HPE Specialist teacher. Students develop important swimming and water safety skills while building confidence and enjoying the benefits of being active.
At OLR, our learning spaces extend well beyond the classroom. Having access to an onsite pool gives students another environment in which to learn, challenge themselves and develop new skills. Whether mastering a new technique, becoming more comfortable in the water or striving for a personal best, every student has the opportunity to progress at their own pace.
The program leads into our OLR Swimming Carnival, a highlight of Term 4 that brings students, staff and families together for a celebration of participation, progress and school spirit. The carnival also provides opportunities for our strongest swimmers to progress to representative pathways beyond OLR.
We’re looking forward to seeing our students make the most of this unique OLR learning space as they build their skills and confidence throughout the swimming season.
