ANZAC Day Service
Many OLR families attended the local service, which this year was held at the Brookfield showgrounds. Our lady of the Rosary School students laid a wreath on behalf of our community.
Students and staff shared a moving Prayer Service and ANZAC Commemoration together at the assembly. This year we welcomed the National Services Pipe and Drum band. Many children had never seen or heard bagpipes played before! A very proud Prep student was able to catch up with her Grandfather, who is the Drum Major of the band.
Year 2 Excursion to the local War Memorial
The Year 2 children walked to Kenmore Village to see 'the Soldier in the Car Park'. We are fortunate to have a local memorial, which pays tribute to the local men and women who sacrificed so much for our freedom. The Memorial visit generated may questions, which the students will investigate and answer throughout this term. Have you see the Soldier in the Carpark?
