The 2018 Grand Parents Day has been set for the end of July. Grandparents with children at OLR, ask your grandchildren for the details. The day will start with a blessing in the church, followed by class visits and morning tea.
Last year's Grandparents day was such a happy day, with Grandparents coming from far and wide to spend time with their grandchildren in the classrooms. Each class set up various activities, old fashioned games and craft projects that the students and their Grandparents (or special adult visitor) participated in together.
The day kicked off with a school mass and morning tea before the Grandparents joined their excited grandchildren in the classrooms. Grandparents with more than one grandchild at OLR were able to spend time with each child in each classroom.
The Mass was for the feast of St Anne and St Joachim, the Grandparents of Jesus. Fr Francis, our Parish priest, assisted by OLR students conducted mass, with such a full congregation of students and Grandparents there was an over flow! Tea was supplied in our large Carroll Community Centre.
